What do babies, cameras, and chocolate have in common?
I’m a birth doula, postpartum doula, photographer, chocolatier, cook, and organizer. I was born and raised in Brazil, moved through four countries, and now live in Lake Stevens, WA, with my husband, dog Max, and two cats, Silly and Sassy.
Ihave always been curious about the influence of human dynamics on families. I grew up in Minas Gerais, Brazil, then studied human ecology at the Federal University of Viçosa. After school, I lived in Ireland, Denmark, and the USA — places with very distinct cultural dynamics, which helped to shape my ability to observe and respect the way people live in their natural surroundings.
I built my professional foundation on the study of humanity. I have helped people raise their children as a nanny, babysitter, and daycare assistant. I’ve helped farmers raise their flowers, strawberries, pigs, and cows. And, I’ve helped businesses raise their service as a receptionist and office clerk.
I was also a chocolatier — because who doesn’t like chocolate? —and have a passion for helping people like me with foreign roots. I’m also a bit of a moving pro; after moving to four countries and over fifteen houses, I get great satisfaction from home organization
In 2018, I was challenged to seek a profession that was meaningful, inspiring, and heartwarming. Caring for families couldn’t be more fulfilling for me, so here I am.
I have combined my years of diverse knowledge and experience, and now have the opportunity to connect with awesome families, from newborns and new families to surrogates and adoptive parents.
These are the things we’ll talk about when we work together.
I will help you dig deep to find the core values that will define and sustain you with a new baby.
I will see and respect you for who you are and the choices you make.
I will share practical tips for labor, baby care, sleep, relationships, and more.
I will guide you through decision-making — whether it’s what crib to get (or to not get one at all!), when to go to the hospital in labor, or where to find inexpensive baby gear.
I will hold you with compassion and non-judgment when you feel at your weakest, and help you develop the strength and resilience you will need as a parent.
